Volunteer Opportunities
In order to work with the women in our programs, volunteers are required to take a state mandated 40-hour training. We offer this training twice a year. If you work only in the Children’s Program we offer four Children’s Trainings in January, April, July and October. Those classes are offered on Monday night from 6-9pm.
The 40-hour training will offer you the following opportunities:

Work on the Emergency Shelter Hotline
Monday- Thursdays 9-9
Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays 9-5

Work with Legal Advocate in Human Options’ Community Resource Center
9-5 Monday-Friday

Human Options’ Children’s Programs
(Children’s Training only requirement) Shelter

Preschool – 9-12 or 2-4:30
Monday-Thursday
Tutor – 2:30-4:30
Monday-Thursday

Second Step
Tuesday and Thursday
6-8:30pm – group activities with children from toddlers-teens

Human Options: Alternatives for abused Women and Children, a non-profit Agency dedicated to preventing family violence, is holding a 40-hour state mandated workshop for anyone wishing to work with the victims of domestic violence. This workshop will provide the attendees with the most current and expansive information on this issue.
