Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)
PCIT is a positive and intensive treatment program designed to help both, parents and children.

The program works to improve the quality of the parent - child relationship and to teach parents the skills necessary to manage their child's behavioral problems.
Parents are taught specific skills and have the opportunity to practice these skillsduring therapy sessions until mastery is achieved and the child's behavior is improved.

The unique aspect of PCIT is live coaching by the therapist behind a two-way mirror. The therapist actually gives step by step instructions through a wireless earpiece worn by the parent.

PCIT is appropriate for children ages 2 - 8 who:
  • Have difficulty in school, preschool, or daycare
  • Are aggressive toward parents, siblings and other children
  • Refuse to follow directions
  • Have frequent temper tantrums
  • Are defiant
  • May be on medication to manage their behavioral problems
